Vacancy: Pre-doc position (GLOBE project) - CLOSED

The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) invites applications for a 3-years, full-time pre-doc position, which will be connected to the Research Project ‘GLOBE- Global Governance and the European Union: Future Trends and Scenarios’, funded by the EU Horizon 2020. In parallel, the candidate is expected to enroll in a PhD program in one of the IBEI partner universities.

The successful candidate should send a research proposal related to the role of the European Union in Global Governance. Applicants must possess a recent Master in Political Science, EU Studies or in a field related to Global Governance, and must be fluent in English. Excellent writing skills and experience in the analysis of quantitative data are a requirement.

Besides writing the Ph.D. thesis, the successful candidate will be also involved in the GLOBE Project. Therefore, the working knowledge of quantitative analytical tools (SPSS, STATA or R) and experience in dataset construction are additional assets. Within the project, the candidate will be involved in background research like literature reviews and minor administrative tasks.

Remuneration is commensurate with a Ph.D. grant under the Spanish government fellowship system. The start date should be no later than 1st October 2019.
