Specialization course | New Challenges of Global Governance (UOC, IBEI)

Objectives

The goal of this specialization is to introduce participants to the challenges of global governance and to make them aware of the multiple dimensions existing in the international arena. The aim is to make it easier for them to understand the challenges existing at an economic and political level given the geopolitical context and the policy processes involved.

Participant Profile

The specialization is geared towards a range of profiles, from graduates with an interest in international studies and geopolitical issues, to professionals and members of the general public who wish to gain a better understanding of current international decision-making processes.

Competences

This program will provide and enhance the following capacities:

  • Identify data sources and conduct rigorous bibliographic and documentary searches.
  • Use data and theory to draw up plausible explanations for international phenomena and establish ways to validate or refute them.
  • Prepare and present reports and/or intervention proposals.
  • Be able to understand and communicate information, analyses and proposals in English.

Who it is aimed at

This specialization is aimed at graduates with degrees in the Social Sciences (Political Science, Sociology, Economics, Business and Administration, etc.) or any other field and students interested in international policy issues and concerned about the problems of today's world. This is a master's degree-level course, but students who have yet to complete their bachelor's degree will be accepted provided they meet the minimum requirements.

The specialization is particularly relevant to professionals whose work has an international dimension and who would like to enhance their international relations profile. It has been designed to study in depth the intricacies of world politics and global governance, both at sector level and within their aggregate geopolitical dimensions.
