1. Why did you choose IBEI Master’s?

I chose to study in the IBEI International Development program because it is, in my opinion, the best option available in Barcelona. Additionally, I have plans to pursue a Ph.D. in the future, and I believe that this master's program will provide me with the strong academic foundation and skills necessary to succeed in my academic and professional journey.

2. What is your experience at IBEI?

My experience at IBEI has been enriching and fulfilling. The academic environment at IBEI is highly conducive to learning, with dedicated faculty and a diverse student body. I've had the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking discussions, work on collaborative projects, and gain a deeper understanding of international development issues.

Moreover, one of the most important aspects of my experience at IBEI is the strong network connections I've established and the close friendships I've developed. These relationships have not only enriched my academic journey but have also created a supportive and welcoming community that enhances my overall experience at the institution.

3. Describe your career path since graduating from the IBEI

Since graduating from IBEI, my career path has been both rewarding and diverse. I began as a Social Educator at the Fundación Catalana d'Esplai, where I actively engaged in social education initiatives.

Additionally, I'm deeply committed to peace activism, dedicating a significant part of my time to promoting peace. I've also established 'Punts per la Pau,' my own organization, focusing on education for Afghan women and girls in Afghanistan, as well as aiding newcomers in Badalona, where I reside.

These experiences have not only allowed me to apply my academic knowledge to real-world scenarios but have also reinforced my dedication to making a positive impact on society through social education and peace activism. I eagerly anticipate further contributions to these crucial areas in the future.

4. How did the master programme prepare you for the work you're doing now?

The master's program at IBEI significantly enhanced my ability to navigate cross-cultural dynamics, thanks to its diverse student body and international focus. This competency has proven invaluable in my work with diverse communities and in addressing peace-related issues. Moreover, the program offered valuable networking opportunities, allowing me to build connections with peers, professors, and industry professionals. These connections played a pivotal role in establishing 'Punts per la Pau' and advancing my career.

5. Is this more or less what you pictured yourself doing after the master programme?

Yes, my current role and involvement in peace activism align closely with my post-master's program expectations. I envisioned applying the knowledge and skills acquired during my studies to make a positive impact in the field of social education and peace activism. My experiences and contributions thus far have confirmed that my post-graduate path is consistent with my initial aspirations, and I'm eager to continue along this fulfilling journey.

6. What advice would you give to current students who want to follow this career path? / Some advice to future IBEI students?

For current students looking to pursue a career in international development and peace activism, my advice is to stay committed, build strong networks, and stay informed about global issues. For future IBEI students, I recommend immersing yourself in the diverse international environment, seizing opportunities like internships and extracurricular activities, and planning for your future career from the beginning. These strategies will help you make the most of your IBEI experience and prepare for a successful and fulfilling career in these fields.

7. What do you miss most about IBEI?

What I miss most about IBEI is the vibrant and diverse academic community that enriched my learning experience. The daily interactions with fellow students and engaging discussions with professors fostered an environment of continuous growth and knowledge exchange. The campus served as a hub for intellectual exploration and collaboration, and the friendships forged during my time at IBEI are invaluable. While I've moved on to a fulfilling career, I can't help but reminisce about the stimulating academic atmosphere and the sense of camaraderie that defined my time at IBEI.
