The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) invites applications for a Research Assistant to work on the “Crisis-Equity-Democracy for Europe and Latin America (CRISEUL)” Jean Monnet Network, funded by the Erasmus + Programme for the European Union. CRISEUL investigates the crisis management mechanisms and alternatives which can render European Union (EU) responses more effective and legitimate and explores the possibilities of international cooperation with other regions, in particular Latin America, to strengthen global level financial and social regulation, as well as to support the protection and promotion of democracy, human rights and the environment.

The Research Assistant will contribute to CRISEUL by analysing recent developments in the study and practice of regulatory governance, and especially as related to the role of regions and interregionalism in these regulatory processes and activities. Focus will be on the EU and regional organizations in Latin America.

The specific duties will include collecting and analysing original data, researching, and writing up case studies. The candidate will also be responsible for copyediting and background research such as literature reviews, as well as minor administrative tasks.
We are seeking candidates at advanced pre-doctoral level with a background in political science, political sociology, international relations, or related disciplines. Candidates must have excellent research and analytical skills and be able to contribute to collaborative research projects.
