New Predoctoral Fellows: Shashwat Kumar and Gabriela de Carvalho

We are pleased to announce the incorporation of two new research fellows: Shashwat Kumar and Gabriela de Carvalho.

Shashwat Kumar

Predoctoral Fellow, Marie S. Curie European Training Network, H2020

Shashwat Kumar is a PhD candidate and he has obtained a predoctoral contract from the European Commission to develop his research at IBEI in collaboration with the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). His PhD is conducted within the framework of Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network on explaining Global India. He holds a Master’s degree in Regulatory Governance from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai and Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC), University of Pune. Shashwat also holds another Master’s degree in Public Administration from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The objective of his PhD thesis is to analyse the shift in regulatory governance of the economy in India under the influence of international policy diffusion and the impacts of those changes.

Predoctoral Fellow FPI, MINECO

Gabriela de Carvalho is a PhD candidate in the program Political Science, Public Policy and International Relations at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, under the supervision of Prof.  Margarita León (UAB) i el Dr. Matthias vom Hau (IBEI). She got a pre-doctoral contract from the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiviness. She holds a BA in International Relations from ESPM/Brazil, a MSc in Latin American Development from King's College London and a MA in Political Science from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her research interest are social inequalities and extreme poverty, focusing on Latin American experiences.
