Biography

Javier Morales is a specialist in Russian foreign and security policy, with a particular focus on its perceptions of the West and relations with the EU, NATO and the United States. He is a Senior Associate Member of St Antony's College, University of Oxford, where he is affiliated to the Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre. His research is supported by a postdoctoral mobility grant (2010-12) from the Spanish Ministry of Education. His academic career started at the Department of International Studies, Complutense University of Madrid, where he joined the UNISCI research group in 2002. He later became a Predoctoral Fellow (2004-08) funded by the Ministry of Education. After defending his dissertation, he moved to Carlos III University of Madrid for one year as a Postdoctoral Fellow (2009-10). During march-april 2011, he is a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals.
