IBEI receives the "HR Excellence in Research" award
IBEI has obtained the accreditation of excellence in human resource policy in the form of the official European Commission HR Excellence in Research Award. This badge, awarded by EURAXESS within the framework of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), recognises the institute's efforts to create a stimulating and favourable work environment and its commitment to continuously improve human resources policies, in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
Having endorsed the 40 principles of the Charter and the Code in 2013, IBEI adhered to the process of implementing a Human Resources Strategy, aligned with those principles in November 2017. Since then, a Gap Analysis of the IBEI’s policies and practices against the principles of the Charter & Code has been carried out. As part of this process, a survey was designed and administered to identify the procedures and practices that needed improvement. Following the Gap Analysis, an Action Plan has been completed, identifying 31 actions for improvement to be implemented over a four-year.
The HRS4R process at IBEI has been carried out under an inclusive and active-participatory approach, involving the whole research and faculty community, the governing bodies, and all management staff. IBEI HRS4R Action Plan is closely aligned with the Institute’s Strategic Plan 2015-2020.
As part of the HRS4R implementation process, and in accordance with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, IBEI is committed to completing an internal review every two years as well as an external evaluation every four years in collaboration with the European Commission.
