A War on Terror by any other Name: What has Obama Changed?

Tuesday May 10, 2011, from 14:00 to 16:00
Room 4 - IBEI
Research seminar
Matthew Evangelista (Cornell University)

Prof. Evangelista revisits some of the arguments in his book, Law, Ethics, and the War on Terror (Polity Press), about the impact of US policy on norms of international behavior.   Focusing on topics such as targeted killing of terrorist suspects, torture, and the status of detainees, he examines the policies of the Obama administration and considers the extent to which they represent change from or continuity with its predecessor.
