Summary

This course will introduce students to the area of Health Policy. It offers an overview of the role of the government in health, a deep understanding of healthcare systems (Universal Health Coverage, healthcare financing, demand and supply), healthcare regulation (types, quality, and international regulation), and pharmaceutical policy (R&D, patents, TRIPS).

Assessment

The evaluation will be: 

  1. 30% Paper presentation

  2. 70% Project (essay)

The classes will be structure in lectures (24 hours) where some of them will be more practical (papers’ discussion, readings, debates, exercises).
