Victòria Alsina Burgués (Minister of Foreign Action and Open Government, Government of Catalonia)

Victòria Alsina Burgués holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, where she also studied a degree in Political Science and Administration. She has an MPA from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a Master’s in Public Management from ESADE. Ms Alsina-Burgés has been awarded the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship.

Victòria Alsina-Burgués is Professor and academic director of the Center for Science and Urban Progress at New York University and chief researcher of the Governance Laboratory (The GovLab) at the same university. She has been a delegate of the Generalitat de Catalunya in the United States and Canada. At the international level, she has worked in countries on five continents with major international organizations and agencies such as the European Union, the OECD, the Council of Europe, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the United Nations.
