Biografia

Liljana Cvetanoska is a Teaching Fellow in Corruption, Law and Governance at the University of Sussex, UK. She teaches on several corruption-related modules at undergraduate and graduate level. Liljana’s has particular research expertise on corruption in EU member states and candidate countries. She is in the final stage of her PhD research with the Sussex Centre for the Study of Corruption where she examined the EU’s impact on corruption control in Central and Eastern Europe. She has prepared a number of research papers on corruption in different European countries, with specific emphasis on the Czech Republic, Romania and the Western Balkans. Liljana also worked as a short-term consultant on a research project on corruption, state capture and gender in Central and Eastern Europe for the Open Society Foundation Initiative for Europe. Prior to her work in academia, Liljana worked as a project researcher for Transparency International on a cross-country study that examined compliance of candidate countries with the EU’s anti-corruption requirements in the legislature, the executive and the judiciary.
