Emre Amasyali

Biografia

Emre Amasyali is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the ERC project "States, Nationalism, and the Relationship between Ethnic Diversity and Public Goods Provision (ETHNICGOODS)", coordinated by Dr. Matthias vom Hau.

His research examines topics in political sociology, comparative historical sociology, and history, and is substantively concerned with the socio-political consequences of imperialism for contemporary nation-states. His postdoctoral research project will examine the long-term development of nationalism in the major Eurasian land-based empires that were never formally colonized. Emre has a PhD in Sociology (McGill University) and holds a Master's Degree in Sociology (University of Oxford).
