Irene Morlino holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Sciences from LUISS Guido Carli (Rome) and a Master's Degree in European Affairs from SciencesPo - Paris. She is currently undertaking a PhD at the London School of Economics (LSE) and her thesis investigates the effectiveness of EU humanitarian aid and on its related conditions. The thesis aims at empirically assessing the effectiveness of the EU’s external action in (selected) countries where humanitarian aid is delivered. Other interests include IOs, human rights and EU-UN relations. Previously, she has worked as an intern for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD-United Nations) in Rome and for the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), Permanent Observer to the United Nations in New York City. She is visiting research fellow at IBEI under the framework of the NORTIA Jean Monnet network.
