The IBEI Graduate Summer School offers an enriching educational experience designed to provide to the diverse needs of graduate students and early career researchers in the fields of international relations, security, development studies, public policy, and practical applications of research methodologies. Geared towards doctoral candidates and MA students, these courses aim to foster a vibrant academic community by bringing together scholars from various universities and research institutions.

The primary objective of the IBEI Graduate Summer School is twofold. First, to provide participants with comprehensive insights into cutting-edge research within the field of international relations, security, development studies, public policy and practical applications of research methodologies. Second, to facilitate the establishment of a robust network among students and scholars engaged in similar areas of inquiry.  Structured around a blend of lectures and seminar sessions, the IBEI Graduate Summer School offers a dynamic learning environment where participants engage in both theoretical discussions and practical applications of research methodologies.

In each course, renowned scholars in the field will deliver engaging lectures that will delve into key concepts, recent advancements, and emerging trends within different theoretical and methodological domains providing participants with a solid foundation for their own research endeavors. Also, in each course, students will have the opportunity to present their own research papers or proposals related to the course topic. Beyond the formal sessions, each course offers ample opportunities for networking and knowledge exchange. Participants will have the chance to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and forge potential collaborations that extend beyond the duration of the course.

The courses are set to take place over two consecutive days during the last week of May and the second week of June. Each course spans 10 hours, with sessions divided into 3-hour segments in the morning, followed by a shared lunch break with all course participants, and concluding with 2-hour sessions in the afternoon.

By participating in this Graduate Summer School, students can expect to gain valuable insights, expand their academic horizons, and cultivate meaningful connections within a vibrant research community. Whether embarking on a doctoral journey or pursuing advanced studies at the MA level, these courses offer a platform for intellectual growth and scholarly exchange at the forefront of international relations, security, development, and public policy research.
