Biography

Theofanis Kakarnias is a PhD student at the Political and Social Sciences Department at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and research assistant at IBEI in the framework of the research project "The Europeanization of national competition policies (EURONCP)". His thesis focuses on the Europeanisation process in EU candidate states and the role of EU conditionality vis-à-vis domestic factors. Theofanis has extensive experience working on a range of European and international policy issues in organisations such as the Greek and European Parliaments, public affairs consultancy APCO Worldwide, and RTL Group. He is currently a Teaching Assistant at IBEI.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Athens and an MSc in European Public Policy from University College London.
