Vacancy: Project Manager (GLOBE project) - CLOSED

The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) invites applications for a project manager position.

The position will be part of the Research Project ‘GLOBE- Global Governance and the European Union: Future Trends and Scenarios’ funded by the EU Horizon 2020, of which IBEI is the coordinator. GLOBE approaches the issues identified in the call focusing on global problems, which has been defined as strategic priorities in the 2016 EU Global Strategy: trade and development, security and the politics of climate change. GLOBE will include also the challenges of migration and global finance as additional areas.

The successful candidate will be specifically working on managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the project; keeping track of the project’s budget / expenditure and financial reporting; ensuring communication between the partners of the project to guarantee achievement of project objectives; organization of project meetings, training activities or scientific conferences; coordination of project dissemination and communication activities and user engagement; liaising with partner institutions, other EU initiatives and third party consultants.

Applicants must possess a recent PhD in political science, EU studies or in a closely related field, and must be fluent in English. Candidates with quantitative backgrounds and strong IT skills preferred. Excellent personal skills and an ability to contribute to collaborative research projects are also essential for this position.

The appointment is full-time and will be expected to last until the end of the project, starting in January 1st 2019.
