Why did you choose IBEI Master's programmes? What is your experience at IBEI?

Firstly, I wanted to do an MA in International Relations because I felt that it would be very useful for my job as a journalist to have a more broad knowledge of how the world interacts and how it is changing. Secondly, I chose the IBEI Master’s in Interna tional Relations because I was moving in Barcelona anyway and because the MA was taught in both English and Spanish. As I at that point still only had a basic knowledge of Spanish, it was an excellent way for me to both improve my knowledge of Spanish and my knowledge of international politics which I felt was very important to my career.

What is our professional experience (your current position, your main functions)?

Freelance Journalist and Spain correspondent for EUobserver. Reporting on economic and political developments in Spain, Barcelona and the Mediterranean.

Linking your working position with the knowledge acquired in the Master , to what extent the knowledge acquired has contributed to the performance of your current job?

The knowledge I acquired in t he Master has contributed a great deal to my work as a journalist. I have a much deeper understanding of how different international organisations work and why; and I have a greater knowledge of how the world economy works and why, as well as how it has developed over time. Apart from all the things that I learned, I also had a great time meeting people from all over the world during my year at IBEI
