Cristina Astier is the project manager of the ERC project "States, Nationalism, and the Relationship between Ethnic Diversity and Public Goods Provision (ETHNICGOODS)". She contributes the overall coordination of the tasks required to meet the project goals.
She holds a PhD (with international mention) in political philosophy from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. There she analysed how trade-related inequalities might erode the institutional capacity to provide the conditions for equal treatment among both individuals and countries. She has spent visiting research periods at the DPIR, University of Oxford and the STG, European University Institute in Florence. For the last ten years, she has worked on the coordination, communication, and dissemination teams of both an FP7 project (2012 – 2016) on social innovation for sustainable ageing and an EITHealth funded 4-year project on teaching innovation.
