This course provides students with a thorough oversight of contemporary issues in International Relations, incorporating both historical contextualisation and recent scholarly investigation to ground the knowledge learnt in the course International Relations Theory in a practical and empirical perspective. The course allows students to develop their knowledge of theory in an applied manner, both to identify problems and limitations with current practice, and to reflect on how theory can be a catalyst for change in world politics.
