This course will be devoted to the study of a variety of cases concerning the concept of "Peace processes and conflict resolution".  For this purpose it will analyse the overall theoretical relevant framework: the world political system, a series of analytical tools on conflict: conflict resolution, negotiation, stabilization, democratization.  The second part of our Programme will review a series of case studies empirically significant.

Avaluació

Students assessment is continuous and will combine the preparation and submission of one short essay (written text + oral presentation)  and active participation in class (40% of the final grade).

A Final Paper (12/15 pages approx, type of letter 12, 4.500 words aprox.) with a clear academic structure: a description of the research topic, a presentation of the methodology, an analysis of the central core of the topic, as well as conclusions and structured sources and references (60% of the final grade). We will address the choice of the topic and some methodological issues in class.
