Martijn Vlaskamp wins Juan de la Cierva Incorporation Grant
IBEI researcher Martijn Vlaskamp has been awarded a Juan de la Cierva incorporation grant for work contracts from the Spanish State Agency for Research.
The funding program finances the recruitment of young researchers for a period of three years. Furthermore, the recipients receive a lump sum to cover research expenses. During the three years the recipients can strengthen the skills they have acquired in their previous postdoctoral training at Spanish research centers.
The selection is based on a competitive process on the basis of the curricular merits of the applicants and the scientific-technical record of the research team they wish to join. The acceptance rate was in this edition 15 percent. Martijn Vlaskamp was the highest ranked candidate in the area of social sciences among 63 applicants.
Martijn Vlaskamp is currently a Beatriu de Pinós fellow at IBEI. Previously, he was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellow at Yale University and IBEI. His research interests include European Foreign Policy, Conflict Management Policies and Armed Conflict Studies, with a special emphasis on the role of natural resources.
