Eva Fortes is a PhD candidate in the program of Political and Social Sciences at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, under the supervision of Dr. Matthias vom Hau. She obtained a predoctoral contract from "la Caixa" Foundation through the PhD fellowship programme INPhINIT.

Her research focuses on migration policy. She holds a BA Magna cum Laude in Comparative Literature and Society from Columbia University and an MA in Political Philosophy from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Previously, she worked as director of operations at Quicksilver Translations in Sant Cugat del Vallès, executive director and managing editor of the Writers' Collective of Kristiania in New York, and as editor and program associate at various human rights organizations including the Campaign for Human Rights in Iran and Human Rights Watch.
