Biografia

Daniel Albalate Del Sol is an Associate Professor at the Universitat de Barcelona (Department of Econometrics, Statistics and Applied Economics) and Deputy Director of its Observatory of Policy Analysis and Evaluation since 2017. He is an economist with a research profile at the intersection of Economics, Public Policy and Public Administration. More specifically, he conducts applied research on the empirical evaluation of public policies in a variety of fields: transportation and infrastructure, local government services, regional and urban economics, and public-private partnerships, among others. He published more than 50 articles in international scientific indexed journals and led several competitive research projects at both regional and national levels on public sector reforms, mobility, climate and ageing transitions and methods for the empirical evaluation of public policies. He is the author of 3 books and editor of two others. According to Scopus-based ranking, he belongs to the world top 2% most cited social scientists. In 2009, he received the Mosher Award of the American Society for Public Administration to the best research article of the year.
