The IBEI’s research programs are designed to produce new scientific knowledge, preferably of a general nature , and to disseminate it by publishing the results of the research in the established vehicles of the international academic community. Our aim is to draft attractive and flexible research programs which will allow the integration of diverse perspectives and avoid concentration on specific disciplines, theoretical problems and research topics . The aim is to seek complementarities with the research that is undertaken in the universities linked to the IBEI and also to identify areas with the potential to achieve high levels of quality in future years.
The research programs articulate topics and relevant questions of a cross-sectional character in the international arena , and embrace a theoretical orientation . They consider actors’ and institutions’ dynamic either from a general perspective or from the perspective of the relationship between domestic and global issues . The research programs are, therefore, not based on geographic regions but reflect interdisciplinary themes and concerns . They will promote dialogue and speculation among the researchers.
In establishing strong research programs, IBEI pays particular attention to those questions that have to do with the existing challenge to build a more balanced international system with a more multipolar structure. The lines of research that address these major questions have a broad character and be open to the inclusion of various topics. In this respect, IBEI will undertake three specific research programs in coming years.
