APPLICATION

APPLICATION PROCESS

IBEI strongly suggests applying through the online application form.

The admission process is conducted on a rolling basis, thus applications can be submitted at any time during the year before 23 July 2010. Candidates are strongly encouraged though to apply early in the previous academic year since they need time to gather all the required documents and sort out their funding. Applicants should bear in mind that fulfilling the minimum requirements is no guarantee for being offered a place in the programme as there are usually more applicants than places available.

The Admissions Committee begins evaluating applications in February. Students will be notified about the decision of the Admissions Committee by email.

APPLICATION FORM

In order to apply for admission to the Master in International Relations, candidates are required to complete the application form.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS

Incomplete applications will not be evaluated by the Admissions Committee. The Admissions Office will try to notify applicants of missing documents or information, but candidates should bear in mind that it is their responsibility to ensure that the complete application package is submitted on time. The curriculum vitae, motivation letter and reference letters have to written in English, Spanish or Catalan.

To complete their application candidates must submit the following documents:

  • University degree (certified copy). Applicants who have not yet obtained a university degree at the time of submitting their application will be considered by the IBEI Admissions Committee. If accepted, they must send a copy of the completed degree to the Admissions Office before the commencement of the course in September 2010.
  • Academic transcripts (original or certified copy).

  • If necessary, official translations of the respective certificates and transcripts if these documents are not in English, Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian or Portuguese.

VISA

Students who are not citizens of a European Union (EU) country should be aware that obtaining a Spanish visa may be a rather lengthy process. Non-EU students are strongly advised to submit their application as early as possible as early admission to the programme allows them to apply for visas well in advance of their stay in Barcelona.

Students requiring a letter of acceptance to the Master, either to apply for a visa to the Spanish Embassy of their country or to apply for a grant, may request one once accepted to the programme.

TUITION FEE

The tuition fee of the Master in International Relations is 9,600 euros and includes all programme activities and obligatory reading material.

Candidates who are admitted to the programme must pay a non-refundable deposit of 1,000 euros in order to guarantee their place. This deposit is not refundable under any circumstances. The payment deadline will be indicated in the acceptance letter.

The remainder of the tuition fee, 8,600 euros, must be paid before the commencement of the Master in September 2010.

IBEI will also admit a small number of 'visiting students' to follow selected courses only of the Master in International Relations. All visiting students will be subject to the same admission requirements as regular students of the programme. Tuition fees for visiting students are as follows:
