In this section we bring together different programmes from public bodies that offer support for postdoctoral researchers. For further information about these programmes, please visit the websites indicated.
IBEI is interested in research proposals from young researchers for carrying out their own research projects which help to encourage, stimulate and develop IBEI’s research programmes.
Marie Curie Actions (European Union)
The ‘Marie Curie Actions’ have long been one of the most popular and appreciated features of the Community Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development. The 'Marie Curie Actions' have been particularly successful in responding to the needs of Europe’s scientific community in terms of training, mobility and career development. In the Seventh Framework Programme, the Marie Curie Actions have been regrouped and reinforced in the ‘People’ Specific Programme.
Ramón y Cajal Program (Ministry of Science and Innovation)
The aim of this programme is to enhance the research capacity of R&D groups and institutions, both private and public, by hiring researchers who hold a Ph.D. and have presented a research line to develop, through aid gradually and progressively co-funded by the receiving institutions, which identify and define their research strategies and the areas in which they wish to specialize.
Resolution of the programme is based on a strict competitive process which guarantees objectivity, scientific quality, and the merits of the selected researchers.
The aids to be granted are for the co-funding of five-year work contracts, for Ph.D. holders in all knowledge areas, by Spanish R&D centres.
Juan de la Cierva Program (Ministry of Science and Innovation)
The aim of this programme is to contract young Ph.D. holders, and it focuses particularly on the group of researchers who have been awarded their Ph.D. recently, so that they can join and strengthen research teams.
The research candidates shall hold a Ph.D. as awarded within the three years prior to the date when the period for presentation of application forms closes. If they do not hold a Ph.D. yet, the deadline to be awarded a Ph.D. is the date of publication of the Awarding Resolution (‘Resolución de Concesión’) in the Ministry of Education and Science web site. Furthermore, candidates shall fulfil mobility requirements as specified in the relevant section of the guide.
Application forms for participation in research are submitted by the R&D centres, and they shall include the names of research candidates to join the research teams.
The aids to be granted are for the co-funding of work contracts by Spanish R&D centres, for a three-year period, in all knowledge areas.
Postdoctoral Fellowships MICINN (Ministry of Science and Innovation)
The aim of this programme is to promote the mobility of foreign researchers to Spain and of Spanish researchers to international research centres.
Postdoctoral Fellowships AGAUR (Government of Catalonia)
To grant aid to Catalan universities and to non-profit non-university institutions located in Catalonia, which include research among their activities, to fund stays for lecturers and researchers with accredited experience and recognised international prestige from outside Catalonia, who are cooperating in a teaching or research project with the host group.
