Research Agreement between the Universitat de Barcelona and IBEI
The interim rector of the Universitat of Barcelona (UB) and the President of IBEI, Narcís Serra, signed a framework collaboration agreement on the scope of research. The agreement determines the formula for incorporating UB academic staff and sets out the criteria for managing the research findings with the aim of fostering the public visibility of both institutions. The agreement also regulates important areas of knowledge transfer activities. As a result of the agreement, UB and IBEI will share the intellectual and industrial exploitation rights arising from the scientific research, projects, publications and inventions of the academic  staff  incorporated  at IBEI. There  will  also  be  an agreement with the Agencia de Valorización y Comercialización de los Resultados de la Investigación (AVCRI) related to the evaluation and marketing of the results of the research. It is expected that during 2008 at least one professor from UB will join IBEI under this agreement.
