New Research Agreement between UAB and IBEI

Convenio para la investigación con la UAB
IBEI and Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona have signed a new framework collaboration agreement on the area of research, which determines the formula of incorporation of UAB academic staff. This is the third agreement of this nature since the Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Pompeu Fabra signed their own agreements with IBEI several months ago.

On 2 December 2007 IBEI hosted the presentation of the Manual of International Public Contracting (Manual de Contratación Pública Internacional) in the series of conferences Visions Internacionals IBEI – IBEI International Views. POSTGRADUATE STUDIES

IBEI graduates in the EU

The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) publishes annually a call for expressions of interest (Relex/External Sevices/2008) on behalf of the European institutions and especially the European Commission. This call assists the building of a database of eligible candidates to be hired by the European Commission’s delegations and offices in non-member states and international organizations.

Last July, three students of IBEI’s Master in International Relations 2007/2008 successfully took part in this competitive selection process. Two of them were included in the Development Cooperation, Social Affairs and Culture section, the third in the technical Economics-Financing and Auditing section. These results illustrate the growing incorporation of the Master’s programme students in different fields of international relations.

Mundus MAPP Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Mundus MAPP Consortium (www.mundusmapp.org) is inviting applications for postdoctoral fellowships from outstanding scholars based outside Europe.

Selected academics are hosted for a period of up to three months in one of the Consortium’s institutions. During this period they teach or develop elements of the Mundus MAPP course, supervise thesis projects of Mundus MAPP students, and/or engage in independent research or other activities aimed at enhancing the quality of Mundus MAPP.

Interested scholars should submit full application packages to the Mundus MAPP Consortium by e-mail (to mundusmapp@ceu.hu) or post by 26 January 2009. Please find more information on the application process at http://www.mundusmapp.org/visiting/app.htm
